Around the school

What else has been happening for this pupil?

A missed session, a change at home or a conversation with a teaching assistant can help a SENCO understand a pupil’s week. Staff see the records their role allows.

If your school uses Bromcom or CPOMS

Where do you look for attendance, where do you keep SEND plans and where does a safeguarding concern belong?

Bromcom and VistaSen

With your school’s permission, VistaSen can import pupil information from Bromcom. Attendance records can help a SENCO put a gap in intervention sessions into context. What you can bring across depends on the access your school has agreed.

Where CPOMS fits

CPOMS lists Bromcom as a school information system partner. If your school uses CPOMS for safeguarding, follow your designated safeguarding lead’s arrangements for recording concerns there. CPOMS case notes stay outside VistaSen’s Bromcom import.

A conversation should lead somewhere

Record a communication, arrange a meeting, prepare a reviewed letter or follow up an agreed task. VistaSen keeps the next step linked to the pupil context so important detail is easier to find again.

Staff can see dated activity and related evidence within their current permissions.

Clear responsibilities. Thoughtful access.

Not every record belongs in every view. School and trust membership, staff responsibilities and the sensitivity of pupil information shape access.

Notices, shared knowledge and reports help staff coordinate work. During your demo, we can explore the questions your SENCO and colleagues would like answered.

What is coming up in your SEND calendar?

Tell us about a review, a change of year group or a learning passport you would like to walk through. We’ll use an example pupil to show your team around.
